As we wind down for summer, many families are already beginning to plan for the coming fall. That means school activities, sports, vacations, and more. But as you plan, you might think about checking out a scouting program. I know it seems like just one more thing to do, but Boy and Girl Scouting programs are somehow different from a sports team or a school club. My experience with Scouts was one that I think prepared me for leadership in a lot of ways, particularly in the church. And since Good Shepherd sponsors a Boy Scout Troop as well as a Girl Scout Troop, we have the unique opportunity as a church to raise up Christian leaders through Scouting.
